BECOMING AN ARTIST

I have always loved to draw and paint since I was a young child. What started out as just pencil drawing my favorite cartoon characters quickly turned into drawing real objects, animals, and anything else I felt like sketching. My grandmother had known about my interest forever and noticed an advertisement in the newspaper one day for private art classes in her local town. Needless to say, she signed me up for that art class and that’s where I personally started to see my own skill and passion for art and started to see the gift I have. That’s when I discovered I was becoming an artist.

Once I started going to my art classes once a week I began to really learn and perfect my skills into something amazing. I quickly went from sketching cartoons to drawing people, pets, numerous animals, and items in a still life. I was learning how to use different types of mediums such as oil paints, pastels, graphite pencil drawings, acrylic and water colors. I enjoy oil painting and graphite pencil drawing the most so I spent a majority of my time at my private classes perfecting my skills and practicing new techniques to profession.
